300SD
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SD was an early Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan in the Mercedes-Benz Series 126 line. The family of cars debuted in 1979 and was available until 1985, but the model itself (more specifically, Mercedes-Benz 300 SD Turbodiesel) came out in 1980.
It incorporated an in-line, five-cylinder diesel engine with an exhaust turbocharger, and it displaced 2998 cc and put out 121 horsepower. A variant with a supercharged 3.0-liter I5 engine, an option from late 1982 on, was capable of 125 horsepower. Both choices, however, mated to four-speed automatic transmissions.
