220S

Mercedes-Benz 220 S was a line of cars in the greater Mercedes-Benz Series 180 (W 180 II). It was comprised of a sedan, coupe, and cabriolet (convertible). All three carried the "Ponton Mercedes" nickname, and they were available from 1956 to 1959.

Each had an in-line, six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and together, they could produce 100 horsepower (106 horsepower from late 1957 and on). This was thanks in part to two register carburetors. One distinctive feature of the line: a single additional trim, namely, a chrome strip on each side of the bead on the front fenders and doors.

The Mercedes-Benz Series 111 succeeded all three cars after the 1959 model year.
