Mercedes-Benz 190 c was a part of the greater Mercedes-Benz Series 110 line of cars (designated W 110 B I). It ran from 1961 to 1965, replacing the "Ponton" Mercedes-Benz model 190 b of the previous era. In fact, model 190 c had become a "Fintail Mercedes," one of many from the eponymous family, which was offered between 1961 and 1968 and one which included a chassis-only model for special-purpose bodies.

The car had an in-line, four-cylinder engine capable of 80 horsepower, and transmission options included four-speed manual and four-speed automatic. Distinctive features ranged from round headlights and a shorter front to indicator lights on the rear end of the front mud guards. Structural aspects, however, were generally based on the Mercedes-Benz 220 b. They included the sibling's front and rear axle suspension, a 50mm-shorter wheelbase, and dual-circuit power brakes with front-wheel discs.
