The second is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster from Mercedes-Benz Series 198 (W 198 II); it debuted in 1957, ran until 1963, and featured a 215-horsepower I6 engine (with a light-alloy block starting in early 1962) paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The third is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster with hardtop, also from Mercedes-Benz Series 198 (W 198 II). It released in 1958 and was offered until 1963, and it had the same engine and transmission specifications.

The fourth is the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from Mercedes-Benz Series 107 (R 107 E 30), a roadster in the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, which ran between 1985 and 1989 and also had the same engine and transmission specs. The fifth, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL from Mercedes-Benz Series 129 (R 129 E 30), also a Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster, was offered between 1989 and 1993. It had an I6 engine inclined 15 degrees right, mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed auto gearbox, and put out 190 horsepower. The sixth and final model, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL-24, was part of Mercedes-Benz Series 129 (R 129 E 30) and another roadster in the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, and it was available between 1989 and 1993. It had a similar engine, but one that was capable of 231 horsepower when mated to either a five-speed manual or a four- or five-speed auto.
