280C
Mercedes-Benz 280 C represented two different models in the Series 114 (W 114 V 28) and Series 123 (C 123 V 28) lines. One was a "Stroke Eight" coupe that debuted in 1972 and ran until 1976. It incorporated an in-line, six-cylinder engine paired with either a four-speed manual transmission, a five-speed manual, or a four-speed automatic. Together, they produced 160 horsepower. The other was a coupe that was offered between 1977 and 1980. It, too, had an in-line, six-cylinder engine, but one mated to either a four-speed manual or a four-speed auto transmission and capable of 156 horsepower.
