Mercedes-Benz Series 112 (designation "W 112") is a classic Mercedes-Benz Series nicknamed "Fintail Mercedes." It was comprised of one model, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SE, in several body styles, and the latter ran during two periods between the 1959 and 1968 model years.
The first period was between 1961 and 1965. (The other period was between 1962 - 1967, when the model was offered as a coupe and a cabriolet (convertible).) Then, the car incorporated an in-line, six-cylinder engine with a light-alloy block, and it could pair with either a four-speed automatic transmission or a four- or five-speed manual transmission (the last, a ZF S 5-20 model). Together, they produced 160 horsepower (after January 1964, output rose to 170 horsepower). Features included mechanically controlled Bosch two-plunger fuel injection (which, from January 1964, became a Bosch six-plunger injection pump), power assisted steering, an air suspension, and front and rear disc brakes.
