300CD

The Mercedes-Benz 300 CD was a pair of coupes in the greater Mercedes-Benz Series 123 line. The latter ran from 1977 to 1985, but the two models themselves, 300 CD and 300 CD Turbodiesel, were offered from 1977 to 1981 and from 1981 to 1985, respectively.

Mercedes-Benz 300 CD incorporated an in-line, five-cylinder diesel engine. It was direct-injection, displaced 3005 cc (2998 cc in late 1978 and later), and put out 78 horsepower (84 horsepower in late 1979 and later). It did so when paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-Benz 300 CD Turbodiesel, had a similar I5 diesel engine with direct injection, but it built in an exhaust turbocharger, displaced 2998 cc, and produced 121 horsepower (125 horsepower in late 1982 and later). It also mated to a four-speed auto transmission.
