280SL
Mercedes-Benz 280 SL was part of a line of sports cars dubbed "Pagoda SL," one which was offered between 1968 and 1971. It had an in-line, six-cylinder engine that could dish out 170 horsepower owing to a camshaft with new control times; that was 20 horsepower higher than the base engine in its sibling, the Mercedes-Benz 250 SL, and torque output was 10 percent higher, too. One could choose among four- and five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmissions, but one distinguishing feature among many that the car offered was unique wheel trim. Its successor after 1971 was the all-new Mercedes-Benz 350 SL.
