280SE
The Mercedes-Benz 280 SE was a model in the Mercedes-Benz Series 116 line and one of the first Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedans. It replaced the Mercedes-Benz Series 108 and Series 109 and ran from 1972 to 1980.
The car incorporated an in-line, six-cylinder engine with 2746 cc displacement that was capable of producing 177 to 185 horsepower. It paired with either a four- or five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. Distinctive features included a double-wishbone front wheel suspension, which had both zero steering-offset and brake dive support, and a gas tank located above the rear axle for added protection if you ever got into an accident. It also featured cowl panels at the A-pillars as well as broad taillights with ribbed surfaces.
