280SE
The Mercedes-Benz 280 SE was a model in the Mercedes-Benz Series 108 lineup, one which debuted in 1968 and ran until 1972; it succeeded the Mercedes-Benz 300 SE.
There were several variants. One, with a standard wheelbase, incorporated a 2.8-liter, six-cylinder engine capable of 140 horsepower with a carburetor and 160 horsepower with fuel injectors; it paired with either a four- or five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. Another, with a longer 2850-millimeter wheelbase, was available until late 1969.
Yet another, a 280 SE 3.5 model, was offered in 1971. It had a V8 engine with a 3.5-liter capacity, delivered 200 horsepower, and mated to either a four-speed manual or a four-speed auto transmission. The last, a 280 SE 4.5 model, which also appeared in 1971, also had a V8 engine -- this time, one with a capacity of 4.5 liters and that produced 198 horsepower; it paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.
