280CE
The Mercedes-Benz 280 CE was a model in the greater line of Mercedes-Benz Series 123 coupes. It debuted in 1977, succeeding the Mercedes-Benz Series 114 "Stroke Eight" coupe lineup, and was offered until 1985. It had a 2.5-liter, in-line, six-cylinder engine that put out 177 horsepower, though you could get a four-cylinder engine capable of 109 horsepower, too. Transmission choices ranged from four- or five speed manual to four-speed automatic.
The car incorporated several safety improvements over its predecessor. For one, it had a stronger, stiffer roof-frame structure and roof pillars, plus reinforced doors and better collision protection. Features ranged from rectangular wide-band headlights and chrome-finish air inlet grilles to chrome-finish strips under the rear lights and a double-wishbone front suspension.
