The Mercedes-Benz 280 is a part of the greater Mercedes-Benz Series 114, a line of what are termed "Stroke Eight" sedans that were available between 1972 and 1976. The car had a 2.8-liter, in-line, six-cylinder engine, and it was capable of 160 horsepower with a carburetor and 185 horsepower with fuel injectors. You could choose between a four- or five-speed manual transmission or opt for a four-speed automatic. The lineup was distinguished by features such as a wide rear bumper and dual exhaust.
