Mercedes-Benz 220 comprised many models in the Mercedes-Benz Series 111 line that ran between 1959 and 1968. They were all nicknamed the "Fintail Mercedes." All had six-cylinder engines mated to either four-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmissions.

Mercedes-Benz 220 b, for example, was available from 1959 to 1965, and its engine was rated at 95 horsepower. Mercedes-Benz 220 Sb ran during the same years, as did Mercedes-Benz 220 SEb, but the former's engine output was rated at 110 horsepower, and the latter's, at 120 horsepower.

The lineup also included two-doors and convertibles, both of which were offered from 1961 to 1965, and both of which had 120-horsepower engines. The models available in these body styles were the Mercedes-Benz 220 SEb Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz 220 SEb Cabriolet.
